NHL Stanley Cup Chase Down To Four Teams

With the second round of the NHL Playoffs now over, the field for a Stanley Cup Finals appearance is now down to four teams. 

Game one of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals was played Thursday, with the Boston Bruins defeating the Carolina Hurricanes, 5-2.

Prior to getting to the third round, Boston knocked off the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs in seven games.


In the second round, Boston took on the Columbus Blue Jackets, and defeated them in six games.

Carolina, meanwhile, eliminated the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals in seven games in the first round.

In round two, the Hurricanes took on the New York Islanders, and completed a four-game sweep to advance to round three.



Out on the west coast, the San Jose Sharks will begin a seven-game series against the St. Louis Blues in the NHL Western Conference Finals.

Game one of the Western Conference Finals will be on Saturday with an 8 p.m. puck drop.

San Jose’s playoff journey this season began by defeating the Vegas Golden Knights in seven games in the first round.

The Sharks then met the Colorado Avalanche in the second round, and like round one, won the series in seven games.



For St. Louis, their road to making round three started with knocking off the Winnipeg Jets in the first round of the playoffs.

The Blues then took on the Dallas Stars in round two, and defeated them in seven games.
