JAMESTOWN – Jamestown School officials announced their 2019 Valedictorian and Salutatorian Wednesday.

Valedictorian Finley Holt and Salutatorian Emily Spitz will represent hundreds of students during the district’s commencement ceremony Friday, June 21 at 7 p.m. in the Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater.

Holt is the son of David and Mary Beth Holt. The scholar has received numerous awards and honors including: 1st Place at Jamestown Community College Connections Speech Contest, All Western New York Football Academic Team and Jamestown Varsity Red Raider Football Heart of a Champion Award; just to name a few.


He will be attending Case Western Reserve University to study biology with the goal of going to medical school to become a doctor.

Spitz is the daughter of Tim and Deanna Spitz. The salutatorian has received numerous awards and honors including: AP Scholar with Honor, Fall All-WNY Scholar Athlete and NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete 2015-2018; just to name a few.

She will be attending Allegheny College to major in biochemistry with the goal of practicing medicine.
