Sheriff’s Office Makes Several DWI Arrests Over Holiday Weekend

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office made several drinking while driving arrests over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Ricky Atkinson, 55, of Erie was charged with DWI, DWI per se and parked on pavement after deputies made contact with his parked vehicle on the shoulder of Route 5 in the Town of Portland Saturday night.

Jordan W. Hebner, 20, of Westfield was charged with DWI after allegedly crashing his car on Barnes Rd in the Town of Stockton Saturday.





Deputies said Hebner left his vehicle following the crash but was arrested a short time later not far from the scene.

Hebner is charged with DWI, DWI Per Se, and other vehicle and traffic violations.

Benjamin L. Eckstrom, 25, of Sugar Grove is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18% or greater and moved from lane unsafely after his vehicle crashed into a ditch on Chautauqua Stedman Road in the Town of Chautauqua Saturday.





















Maddiso J. Howard, 22, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18% or greater following a property damage auto crash on Waits Corners Road in the Town of Sherman Saturday just after midnight.

Timothy L. Sawyer, 27, allegedly refused a breath test following a motor vehicle crash on Canterbury Dr. in the Town of French Creek Sunday at 3 a.m.

Deputies charged Sawyer with driving while intoxicated.

All were released and are scheduled to appear in various court jurisdictions at a later date.
