GERRY – A fundraiser will be held Sunday, July 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Den Adelsman’s Klub, Salisbury Road, for long-time Elvis tribute artist Sterling Pollaro and his wife, Lori Pollaro.

Sterling has been fighting a very rare and aggressive form of bladder cancer since October. In January, doctors said he is at stage four and treatment options are limited. As this was happening, his wife, Lori, was diagnosed with breast cancer.

This combination has created great financial hardships for the couple, including loss of employment for him and lost work days for her, travel out of town for doctor’s appointments and out-0f-pocket medical expenses.

“I want to say thank you to every single person that has reached out to us about the benefit on July 14th,” Sterling posted on Facebook. “My wife and I are extremely grateful and overwhelmed at the response from so many amazing people. We are so grateful to God for carrying us through this extremely trying time in our life.”

Food and beverages have been donated by Honest John’s Pizzeria, Farm Fresh Food, Southern Tier Brewing Company and Crown Snack Foods.

DJ Steve Trapani will be spinning tunes. There will be a 50/50, a Chinese Auction, and raffle items.

Donations and support have been provided by, among others:

Harley Davidson of Jamestown, Southern Tier Brewing Company, A Sparrow’s Nest, Paparazzi/Rarity Nails, Color Street by Roxanne Soldano, Posh, Pampered Chef by Marge Johnson, Marriott International, Monro Auto Service, Computer Den, Ed Shultz, Honest John’s, Quilts by Martha Danielson, A-1 Auto, Ziebart Rhino Linings and Myers Wade- The Ellington Agency.
