WNYNewsNow interviewed Stewart on Tuesday. Stewart thanked the Jamestown Jackals organization for the opportunity to play basketball in the city of Jamestown.

“I feel like this year, Jamestown has been the biggest up team.” said Stewart. “I’d like to thank Coach Mark Anderson and Kayla Crosby. They gave me the opportunity to showcase my skills.”

Stewart added, “I’d like to thank the city of Jamestown. They embraced me when I came. It was a fun year.”

Stewart also credited Anderson for instilling confidence in him, and for encouraging him to shoot the ball whenever there was an open shot.

Last season with the Jackals, Stewart averaged 17.1 points and 7.5 rebounds. Stewart also shot 37 percent from three-point range.

Stewart was also named The Basketball League’s 2019 Men of Integrity Most Improved Player.
