Deputies Release Name Of Deceased In North Harmony Accident

NORTH HARMONY – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the victim in the fatal motor vehicle accident involving a commercial vehicle on Route 394 Wednesday. 

James A. Ellis, 63, of Jamestown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation revealed a pickup truck allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign on Magnolia-Stedman Road and entered Rt. 394.


The pickup then reportedly struck Ellis’ commercial semi causing it to roll over.

The pickup truck driver was taken to a area hospital for treatment.

Deputies said the investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
