Reed Collapses In Capital Building

WASHINGTON – Congressman Tom Reed had a medical emergency in Washington, D.C. Thursday afternoon.

Reed was checked out by medical personnel, but it conscious and alert.

“Paramedics are checking Rep. Reed’s vitals now. He was unconscious for about 30 seconds or so after he hit the ground. He was moments away from a live television hit, but thankfully that moment did not happen on-air,” said Reporter Samantha-Jo Roth in a tweet. “Paramedics have wheeled in a gurney with the intention of taking him out of the rotunda momentarily.”


Reed was about to appear on Fox Business Network when it happened.

“Tom is in good condition, responsive, and being checked out by medical personnel following today’s fall,” said Reed’s Office in a statement.
