LAKEWOOD – A joint fundraiser between local law enforcement and Applebee’s Thursday night led to a collection of nearly $1,100 in proceeds to the WNY Special Olympics.

Jamestown Police made the announcement on its Facebook page Friday morning, saying that athletes and their families were there for the event.

Police gave a special thank you to the management and staff at Applebee’s for their hospitality and hosting of the event.

The event occurs annually, and is held at the Applebee’s locations throughout Western New York.
