JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities says enhancements to the organization’s website will allow customers to initiate services online, without having to call or walk into the BPU Customer Service Office.
BPU officials revealed the enhancements Monday, saying the upgrades will save customers time by allowing customers to complete forms online by registering via the “My Account” option.
“The BPU continuously plans and works to provide up-to-date services for our customers,” explained BPU General Manager David Leathers “The newly-developed My Account on our website should streamline processes and improve experiences for BPU customers.”
Those who currently are registered for online payments, autopay and budget billing will not need to re-register, officials said.
The only difference in making online payments is that, instead of a username and password, the customer will sign in with emails and passwords.
For instance, customers may complete a form to schedule their own special item collection for larger or electronic pick-ups. They may schedule yard waste bag collection appointments without having to call the office as well.
A recycling bin request form may be completed and requests for items such as recycling calendars may be submitted through the page.
Landlords will also now have the ability to submit owner never off and owner authorizing property manager forms. Landlord authorizations may be submitted online, along with third party notification submissions.
