LITTLE VALLEY – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has issued a travel advisory.

Officials say the county is experiencing heavy snowfall, with wind causing roadways to be covered with snow and slippery, causing limited visibility.

If you must travel, the Sheriff’s Office asks drivers to use extreme caution.

A Lake Effect Snow Warning remains in effect for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties until 7 a.m. Thursday.

Forecasters say additional snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows is expected. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph are also possible.
