BUFFALO – A Forestville man convicted of possession of child pornography was sentenced Friday in a Buffalo courtroom.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Joseph Harvey, 56, was sentenced to serve 96 months in prison and 25 years supervised release by Judge Lawrence Vilardo.
In May 2016 prosecutors say Harvey was found with 37 videos and 51 images of child pornography. Some of the images included prepubescent minors, and depictions of violence.
In addition, between January and May 2016, the Harvey exchanged text messages with another man in which they discussed child pornography. During those text exchanges, Harvey distributed and received images of child pornography.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Kevin Kelly.
