NEW YORK – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is telling the federal government; “We need your help and we need it now.”

In an emotional news conference Tuesday, the Governor demanded that thousands of ventilators from federal stockpiles be rushed to his state.

Cuomo says New York urgently needs 30-thousand more ventilators, but is getting only a fraction of that.

“FEMA says ‘we are sending 400 ventilators.’ Really? What am I going to do with 400 ventilators when I need 30,000? You pick the 26,000 people who are gonna die because you sent 400 ventilators,” said the Governor.

Cuomo spoke as the number of Coronavirus cases in New York State surged to over 25,000. That’s more than a half of all the cases in the country.

Although Cuomo said despite the surge, his state could still be some two weeks away from the peak of the Coronavirus crisis.
