Police: Man Arrested After Striking Officer With Bucket Full Of Soap, Water

JAMESTOWN – A City of Jamestown man was arrested Monday after allegedly striking an officer with a bucket full of soap and water during a neighbor dispute on East Second Street.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department were dispatched to 1267 E. 2nd St. just before 7 p.m. Monday for a dispute where a man allegedly smashed his neighbor’s window with a bat.

Through investigation, officers alleged that Marc Cheney, 47, was the culprit.


While attempting to speak with Cheney he allegedly pushed past officers in an attempt to flee.

Police say a struggle ensued and Cheney then allegedly struck an officer in the face with a bucket full of soap and water, causing injury.

Cheney was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on a police officer, fourth-degree criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration.



Officers report Cheney was held in Jamestown City Jail prior to arraignment in the case.
