JAMESTOWN – A local restaurant will be dishing out free meals for hospital workers in Jamestown on Wednesday.

Basil & Bones Restaurant in Frewsburg will setup their food trailer at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to provide complimentary meals to doctors, nurses and hospital staff.

“All of us at Basil & Bones are so thankful for all the frontline medical professionals that are putting themselves in harms way everyday fighting this terrible virus,” said the restaurant in a statement. “We want to show our appreciation for all their sacrifices during this very difficult time by offering these brave men and women a hot homemade meal in an effort to bring a little encouragement the get though the long hard day.”

Last week, first responders, city staff and community members surprised workers at the hospital with a special salute amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

  1. What about Janitors, cleaners, custodians…we don’t get recognition at all. We make sure the essential workers have sanitized facilities.
