NEW YORK – For the eighth consecutive day, many people took to the streets, protesting the death of George Floyd.

Some gatherings were peaceful as demonstrators held signs and called for justice for Floyd, but there were tensions once again in some areas, like New York, Washington D.C., and Atlanta, where tear gas was deployed to disperse protesters who hadn’t left by curfew.

The streets eventually emptied, but they’re expected to fill up again.’

Services for Floyd are planned over the next six days in Minneapolis, Houston and Raeford, North Carolina.

Meanwhile, a Civil Rights investigation is now underway, looking into the Minneapolis Police Department. Investigators are looking back at the department’s practices for the past decade.
