Third Street Reopened After Main Break Repairs

JAMESTOWN — A main break on Third Street Friday morning caused the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities to close a section of the street for repairs, but as of 3:10 p.m. Friday, repairs were completed and the road was reopend..

Becky Robbins, communications coordinator for the BPU, reported that the street was closed from Prendergast Avenue and East Second Street while repairs took place. Water service was shut off on Third Street from Spring Street to East Second Street.

Water in that area is expected to be discolored for up to the next 24 hours, she said.
