RANDOLPH – Officials in the Town of Randolph are issuing a boil water advisory to some residents.
Until further notice, Randolph officials ask residents in the former East Randolph Water District, with account numbers starting with a two or three, to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for a minute, and cool before using, or use bottled water.
Officials say on Monday turbidity, a darkness in color, was noted in the eastern section of the water supply.
They say bacteria and other microbes are often attached to suspended sediment in the ground water supplies. Unless boiled, officials say the microbes may pose a health risk to some residents.
Water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food needs to be boiled until the advisory is lifted.
