ALBANY – Starting next year those who travel the New York State Thruway will be paying more in tolls.

The Thruway Authority Board of Directors approved an increase in toll rates this week part of the conversion to cashless tolling.

Those without an E-ZPass who will now be required to pay by mail will see a 30 percent tolling increase.

Additionally, out of out-of-state E-ZPass customers will see an increase of 15 percent.

E-ZPass customers who live New York State will not be impacted by the change.
