BUFFALO – A Jamestown man convicted on weapons charges will now spend three years behind bars.
The U.S. Attorney announced Thursday 57-year-old Ingvue Buchanan was handed down the sentence by District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr.
In June 2016 Buchanan, who was on New York State parole at the time following a manslaughter conviction, was busted with two firearms and a box of ammunition connected to a Pennsylvania investigation.
While speaking with his Parole Officer at the time, prosecutors say Buchanan admitted to helping facilitate the sale of dozens of stolen firearms from the state.
Following court proceedings, the man was convicted of being a felon-in-possession of a firearm.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
