JAMESTOWN – The price for a gallon of gas rose 10 cents over the last month in the Jamestown area.

According to GasBuddy.com on March 1 the price for a gallon of gas was $2.79 and now, nearly 30 days later, it is $2.89 a gallon.

Experts with AAA say higher crude oil prices are to blame.

Statewide New York’s average is $2.91 a gallon, a 13-cent increase from the first of the month.

However, experts say there is some good to news to come.

According to the latest weekly report from the Energy Information Administration, growing stock levels are expected to put downward pressure on pump prices stabilizing prices.
