19-Year-Old Charged With Setting Arson Fires At High School, Local Restaurant

JAMESTOWN – A 19-year-old is facing charges in connection with two arson fires in Jamestown this week.

Jamestown Police say Xavier Guadarrma is charged with felony first-degree, third-degree and fifth-degree arson in connection with a fire at Fifties Grill and Dairy on Washington Street and at Jamestown High School on Sunday.

Investigators allege Guadarrma set a fire inside the bathroom of the business and then, using a similar incendiary device, set the blaze behind the high school.

The school fire, police say, went unnoticed and burned throughout the day until it was discovered when school returned to session on Monday morning. That fire caused some damage to the outside of the school building and grass area.

Both incidents were captured on security video identifying Guadarrma as the alleged culprit.

Police say additional charges are pending and their investigation is ongoing.
