COVID-19 Vaccination Update: Nearly 52,000 Shots Administered Locally So Far

JAMESTOWN – Nearly 52,000 people have received the COVID-19 vaccine in Chautauqua County so far.

According to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine tracker, 51,997 people have received at least one dose of the shot, making up just over 40 percent of the population.


The county continues to vaccinate at a steady pace with just over 1,300 vaccinations per week.

There are now over 43,000 residents fully vaccinated making up more than 33 percent of the population.

Statewide, 46 percent of New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the shot with 34 percent of people fully vaccinated.



The Western New York region continues to have the highest infection rate for the virus statewide.

In the latest COVID-19 update for Chautauqua County, 24 new cases of the virus were reported with 121 people actively sick and 12 hospitalizations. There are more than 480 people quarantined.

To date, there have been 8,938 total infections countywide with 8,668 people recovering and 149 connected deaths.
