ELLICOTT – A 29-year-old man is accused of drinking and driving following a crash in the Town of Ellicott this week.

Ellicott Police allege Blaydon Niles was driving his dually pickup truck east on Willard Street Extension Tuesday when he left the roadway striking a cluster of mailboxes.

Officers say his truck was later found wrecked and abandoned in the Quaint Road area at around 12:30 a.m.

The man, police say, was also charged in connecting with a theft from an area business the day before.

It is alleged Niles took several building materials from the business, valuing more than $1,000.

Niles was charged by Ellicott Police with driving with a suspended license, operating without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was also charged with felony grand larceny.

Police say he was issued appearance tickets for Town of Ellicott court.
