JAMESTOWN – A group of local Cub Scouts are once again giving back to the community.
Cub Scout Pack 123 hosted a ‘Scouting for Food Drive’ over the weekend.
In total, around a dozen boxes of non-perishable food items were donated to the St. Susan Center in Jamestown.
Opened in 1984, the center runs a soup kitchen providing daily lunches for those in need.
This is not the first time the local group has given back. Earlier this month the scouting troop took part in an Arbor Day Tree planning effort at Jackson-Taylor Park.
The ‘Scouting for Food’ campaign is a nationwide effort where the Boy Scouts of America give back to local food banks.
