DUNKIRK – A 72-year-old Dunkirk man is accused of stealing over $50,000 in funds while acting as a power of attorney.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says William Bradley is charged with second-degree grand larceny following the alleged January theft.

Through an investigation in an adult protective service case, deputies allege Bradley, acting as the power of attorney for another subject, proceeded to exploit funds in excess of $50,000 from the victim’s bank account.

The money taken, deputies say, was not beneficial to the victim’s care or well-being.

Bradley was formally charged this week and is scheduled to appear in the City of Dunkirk at a later date.
