JAMESTOWN – This summer’s primary election are slated to take place next week, here’s a look at the races to watch.

Early voting for the June 22 primary vote is already underway, with registered Democrats and Republicans casting their ballots in various local elections across Chautauqua County.

Some elections to take note of include Chautauqua County Legislator District 4 where Democrats Susan Parker and Christine Starks are going head-to-head. Another top county race is between Republicans Martin Proctor and Bill Ward who are vying for the Chautauqua County Legislator District 18 ticket.

At the town level, Republicans Russell Payne and Laura Smith are facing off for the Carroll Town Supervisor ticket. Payne previously defeated Smith in the 2019 election.
