SURFSIDE, Fla. – At least one person was killed in a partial building collapse at a 12-story condominium in Surfside, Florida overnight.

Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett says at least 10 people were treated for injuries at the scene.

More than 80 Miami-Dade rescue and fire units have responded.

According to the address given by Miami Beach Fire and Rescue, the building is known as the Champlain Towers South.

Burkett says the building was undergoing roof work, it’s unclear whether that contributed to the collapse.
