BUSTI – A summer-long bridge replacement is now complete, reopening a popular thoroughfare in the Town of Busti.

The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities says Southwestern Drive reopened Wednesday after crews completed a bridge replacement project.

The work lasted around two-months, with the existing culvert replaced due to structural deficiencies and substandard hydraulic capacity.

Officials say with the replacement bridge in place, the new crossing is expected to last beyond 75 years.
