BEMUS POINT – Republicans from across the area came together Thursday night rallying to re-elect Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel.

The political fundraiser took place at the Bemus Point Golf Club and Tap House.

Among those in attendance was Chautauqua County native, and Chairman of the New York State Republican Party, Nick Langworthy, who says he is proud to support Wendel.

“You look at PJ, he was a teacher, he was someone that served in the county legislature, then he entered executive service, but he entered at a time of intense pressure that most executives never faced, there is no playbook on how to handle a global pandemic where our economy collapses and where businesses are forced to close,” said Langworthy. “He hasn’t injected politics into his response, he’s just done the right thing.”

Wendel is thankful for Langworthy’s endorsement and, what he believes is a strong Republican ticket this fall.

The executive previewed some of the topics of his budget address to lawmakers that will take place next week, touting the positive momentum the county is seeing post-pandemic.
