MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County’s Executive is slated to outline his tentative 2022 budget next week.

Executive PJ Wendel will hold the budget presentation during the Chautauqua County Legislature meeting on Wednesday, September 22.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers of the Gerace Office in Mayville.

“Last year in the wake of my first budget, I stated our come back will be greater than our setback,” said Wendel. “This tentative budget validates that statement. Our employees and department heads are continuously looking for ways to streamline processes and implement efficiencies. This tentative budget will reflect their hard work.”

After Wendel presents his budget, county legislators will begin their review of it by meeting with department heads and determining if any additional modifications are needed.

They will then need to pass a final budget for 2022 on or before December 1, 2021.

For those interested in attending, but can not do so in person, can watch a livestream at the Chautauqua County Government Facebook page.

Copies of the presentation will be available online by September 25. The presentation will be available on the County Executive’s website.
