Bemus Point Man Charged In Friday Night Altercation, Alleged Arson

BEMUS PONIT – A 32-year-old is accused of assaulting a person and then setting their property on fire during an altercation in Bemus Point Friday night. 

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in Bemus Point for the reported altercation around 9:19 p.m. 

Through investigation it is alleged David Ralph II made threats to obstruct the breathing of, and intentionally caused damage to the property of another person by setting the property on fire.  


Ralph was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, and fifth-degree arson.  

Ralph was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Program.
