JAMESTOWN – Fall leaf collection is set to get underway next week in Jamestown.

The city’s Department of Public Works will start the effort on Monday in the Foote Avenue, Martin Road and Linwood Avenue area.

Crews will be moving east and north in a counterclockwise workflow until they reach the east side of Washington Street and Fluvanna Avenues.

A second phase of the leaf collection will take place later in November, starting on Monday, Nov. 22.

Residents are asked to rake their leaves to the terrace just behind the curb and not into the street.

Only leaves will be picked up, excluding brush, hedge trimmings, garden debris and/or tree branches.

The department says any local farmers or composters who are interested in the leaves should call their office at (716) 483-7545.
