JAMESTOWN – The National Comedy Center in Jamestown is among around a dozen arts and cultural institutions in our region receiving a chunk of a $100 million dollar donation.

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation announced the news on Thursday.

The money is part of a new endowment with the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.

Some of the money, $250,000 annually, will go to support the National Comedy Center.

The funding, officials say, is unrestricted and can be designated for general operating needs.

However, each organization involved will co-design, in partnership with Community Foundation and national consultants, metrics and benchmarks that support their goals and strategic plans to use the money.
