JAMESTOWN – A man who barricaded himself inside of a Jamestown home last year has been indicted on assault charges.

34-year-old Silk Spencer has plead not guilty to two counts of assault with intent to cause physical harm following his first appearance in Chautauqua County last month.

Spencer was wanted in connection with an alleged prior stabbing earlier this year when he barricaded himself inside a basement of a Cowden Place home on May 10.

Police say as officers approached the house Spencer fled and barricaded himself inside.

During the standoff it is alleged Spencer threatened to kill the responding officers.
