ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) – The Erie humane society rescues lots of animals during the winter. That’s because many families that own bigger pets are not open to making them indoor pets. This leaves animals in sub-below temperatures and susceptible to frostbite.

A gold Lab was rescued by the Humane Society a few days ago. He was neglected in freezing temperatures and caught frostbite on his nose and ears.

Nicole Leone with the Erie Humane Society wants all pet owners not capable of giving care to animals to hand them over to the humane society to find the best home.

Remember, if it’s too cold for you, then it’s too cold for your pets.
