Audubon Community Nature Center Readies For Winter Break

JAMESTOWN – The Audubon Community Nature Center is gearing up for winter break with some winter weather fun for are children. 

On Monday, February 21, and Thursday, February 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids ages 4 to 12 can enjoy a day or two of Audubon activities. The Audubon Community Nature Center says the kids will get the chance to enjoy numerous activities such as, building a den of snow, or challenge new friends to walk a snow-covered log. 

For Nature Center member children there will be a fee of $40 or $30 . Additional siblings receive a $5 discount. The day will be spent primarily outdoors; they encourage parents to dress children for the winter weather, including two pairs of extra clothes, including socks, shoes, mittens, and extra face coverings for any indoor time. 





Children will also need to be provided a lunch prior to arrival, as well as a couple snacks, and a water bottle for a wonder filled day at the Audubon. 

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. They encourage people to enjoy their grounds, with its six miles of trails, and view Liberty, Audubon’s non-releasable Bald Eagle, dawn to dusk daily, free of charge.  

Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. The ACNC will also be displaying a collection of live animals including the new Hellbender exhibit, the three-story Nature Center building houses interactive, winners of the 2021 Nature Photography Contest, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders attend free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.   





















Enrollment for the ACNC is limited. Reservations are required and must be paid in full by Thursday, February 17, for the Monday, February 21 camp and Tuesday, February 22, for the camp on Thursday, February 24.
