JAMESTOWN – A city park will soon receive new playground equipment thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.

The Jamestown City Council voted unanimously last night to purchase new playground equipment for Nordstrom Park, located on Rosemead Avenue, worth $180,000. Additionally, a handicap accessible path will be placed in the park.

Bathrooms at various parks in the city will also see enhancements. The Council voted to designate $14,000 towards new hand dryers.

Finally, the Council approved spending $30,000 on improvements to various baseball and softball fields in the city and an additional $30,000 towards new signage for the parks.

The funding for the fields and signage will also come from ARPA funding.
