Buffalo Man Accused In Jamestown Dirt Bike Theft

JAMESTOWN – A 22-year-old Buffalo man accused of stealing a dirt bike in Jamestown is facing charges in connection with the alleged crime.

City of Jamestown Police report that the bike was stolen from the Martin Road area on Sunday.

It is alleged that Arnaldo Mateo Jr. fled the scene with an unidentified woman after trying to buy the bike with counterfeit money.











The owner of the property called 911 for help as they attempted to locate Arnaldo. The bike’s owner later confronted him several blocks away and got his dirt bike back.

Police say Arnaldo and the female fled the scene in was a grey colored SUV after a hit and run accident in the parking lot across from UPMC hospital. When police attempted to stop them in Brooklyn Square, the pair reportedly sped away.

Mateo Jr. was later located by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office in Buffalo, where he was arrested.









He faces a slew of charges including grand larceny, reckless endangerment and fleeing a police officer.
