Jamestown High School Praising Express Winter Guard

JAMESTOWN – The local high school is celebrating their students after placing at WGI Regional Competition.

Jamestown High School Express Winter Guard is in cheers since placing 3rd out of the 11 guards at the Winter Guard International (WGI) Regional Competition in Pittsburgh, Pa. The students performed, ‘Somebody Who Loves Me’ as their show.

Winter Guard Director, Kaitlyn Marsh says seeing her students was all she hoped for and more.


“I am so proud of the performances Express had in Pittsburgh and am even more proud of how well they represented Jamestown the whole time we were there,” said Marsh.

The JHS Express Winter Guard members are:

  • Jordyn Christensen
  • McKenna Cuifolo,
  • Madisin Kanaby
  • Kylie Luce
  • Jaidan Lutgen
  • Amara Pacheco
  • Peyton Senear
  • Mackenzie Trace
  • Natalie Wilson

The Jamestown Express Guard competed against other guards from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio,and Virginia in their class. JHS Winter Guard is scheduled to travel to Dayton, OH in April to compete in WGI World Championships against over 100 guards from all over the country.



The school’s guard will be performing another show next week and March says they would love the community’s support.

“I encourage everyone to come out and support both our JV and Varsity guards at their next performance on March 26th in the JHS McElrath Gym,” Marsh said

The show will start at 5 p.m.  More information about tickets and the performance will be provided at a later date.
