Interstate-90 Construction Resumes In Northern Chautauqua County

RIPLEY – Construction on Interstate-90 from the NY-PA line to Westfield is now underway in Chautauqua County.

The New York State Thruway Authority announced the news on Wednesday, that the $19.5 million pavement rehabilitation has resumed. The work first started in July 2021, taking place on a 13-mile stretch.


The project includes full depth pavement reconstruction of the eastbound lanes and associated ramps with each exit.

Additional work includes safety improvements such as reflective line striping for enhanced safety, extensive guide rail replacement, drainage improvements and signage.

Motorists may encounter lane closures on the Thruway along with traffic shifts and stoppages while work is underway.



Oakgrove Construction, Inc. of Elma, NY is the contractor for the project. Work is expected to be complete this summer.
