JAMESTOWN – Local educators are receiving recognition by the Western New York Educational Service Council.

The 16th Annual Awards Banquet will honor Jamestown High School English as a New Language paraprofessional, Celia Wilson and Bush Elementary School teacher, April Shoup on April 26th.

They will be receiving the award for Excellence for Teaching and Excellence for Support Staff Services.

JPS Superintendent Dr. Kevin Whitaker expressed enthusiasm for the educators.

“Being recognized by their peers as outstanding educators is well deserved by Mrs. Shoup and Mrs. Wilson,” Dr. Whitaker continued. “Our entire Jamestown school family congratulates them on this well-deserved award.”

Nominations are decided based on the demonstrated dedication and exemplary service to the district and the regional educational community, along with how the individual demonstrated leadership.
