ERIE, Pa. (Erie News Now) – According to our first warning weather team, days are warmer this week. People were outside doing yard work or taking a stroll through the city. It’s something they couldn’t do the past few days or months because of the snow in the area.

The snow triggers a mental illness called Seasonal Affective Disorder or S.A.D. Experts says, S.A.D. affects more than half a million people a year. It leads to decreased workdays, serious medical issues and more.

Treatments include medication, counseling or light using an artificial lightbox.
