FREWSBURG – A allegedly intoxicated Frewsburg man is facing charges after sideswiping a Sheriff patrol car before fleeing the scene of the crash this week.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reports a deputy was parked off the roadway on West Main Street in Frewsburg Tuesday afternoon when he was hit by a vehicle.

The car, which deputies said was operated by 54-year-old Mark Kyler, then continued on without stopping.

The deputy gave chase and Kyler eventually came to a stop on Ivory Road approximately a mile from the crash scene.

Following an investigation, it is alleged Kyler was highly intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, among other traffic violations.

After processing Kyler was released and will appear in the Town of Carroll Court at a later date.

Deputies said there were no injuries resulting from the crash.
