Jamestown Rebels Win Weekend Playoff Match, Continue To Finals

JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Rebels Hockey Team is moving forward in their division’s playoffs, clinching a 3-2 game victory over the Johnstown Tomahawks and moving forward in the 2022 Robertson Cup.

The tiebreaker match was held in Johnstown, where the Rebels won in overtime with a game winning goal by Ryan Waltman. John Lundy, Kolby Amici, and Josh Burke also scored, setting the final score of 4 to 3, and advancing into the next round of the playoffs.

The Rebels previously secured a game one victory at Johnstown with a final score of 2 to 1 in the second period of overtime play, thanks to a winning goal from Kolby Amici, another goal from Ryan Waltman, and goalkeeper Nolan Suggs blocking 28 score attempts.


Johnstown took the second game on their home ice evening up the series 1 to 1 with a final score of Rebels 1 and the Tomahawks 3.

The Rebels returned to Jamestown to face Johnstown for the third time, ultimately losing in the first period of overtime 4 to 5.

Jamestown bounced back and took game 4 with Jak Vaarwerk securing 2 goals with John Lundy and Noah Szretter scoring as well. With a final score of 4 to 1.



Jamestown will be on the road this weekend to face off against the New Jersey Titans, returning to their home ice for game 3 the following week with the potential for a 4th game in Jamestown, and 5th game in New Jersey.
