JAMESTOWN – A trio from the City of Jamestown are facing charges for illegally dumping along a city street.

The charges, Jamestown Police say, stem from an ongoing issue of illegal dumping in the area of Pratt Avenue. As a result, detectives placed a security camera in the area, and thus, caught culprits in the act.

Police said on Wednesday, 28-year-old Tamika Elston, 37-year-old Desimon Elston and 47-year-old Lawrence White were recorded dumping a mattress and a television from a trailer pulled by their GMC pick-up truck.

The video was posted on the Departments Facebook page, and within minutes, it’s location was given to police.

Since then, officers, along with investigators from the New York State Environmental Conservation, charged the three with illegal disposal of solid waste.

Tamika Elston was additionally charged for allegedly transporting solid waste uncovered

The charges carry a minimum fine of $1,500 for each violation.
