Man Dies Following Farm Tractor Accident In Chautauqua County

HANOVER – One man died following a motor vehicle accident in Chautauqua County on Sunday afternoon.

Around 3:38 p.m. the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to Alleghany Road in the Town of Hanover for a motor vehicle accident.











When deputies arrived on scene they found a 2021 Ford Ranger pick up truck rear ended a New Holland farm tractor.

A 76-year-old man operating the tractor was ejected and sustained serious injuries. 

He was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 









The 75-year-old driving the pickup truck was heading southbound when he struck the tractor. 

The truck’s driver sustained minor injuries and was released by medical personnel on scene. 

Deputies report their investigation is still ongoing. 

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Silver Creek Fire Department, Hanover Center Fire Department, Seneca Nation EMS, Forestville Fire Department, and Chautauqua County EMS.
