Changes To The Memorial Day Parade

JAMESTOWN – Lawmakers at Jamestown’s Monday night Work Session discussed changes coming to the 2022 Memorial Day parade.

The parade, which hasn’t been held since before the pandemic in 2019, was slated to make its return this year by lawmakers earlier in the month.

The festivities, which is meant to remember those who lost their lives fighting for their country, normally takes Prendergast Avenue to Lakeview Cemetery and ending at Soldiers’ Circle.

This year, however, the veterans group dedicated to hosting the parade have decided not to have the conclusion at the cemetery, but to still have the parade go on.

Instead of going down Prendergast Avenue like normal, the parade will go down Lakeview Avenue and conclude at the entrance to Lakeview Cemetery.
