HANOVER – A 76-year-old Jamestown man was killed following a crash involving his farm tractor over this past weekend.

In a update from Monday’s report, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office identified 76-year-old Samuel Restivo as the victim from the Sunday afternoon crash in the Town of Hanover.

Following an investigation, it is alleged that Arthur Zynda, of South Dayton, was traveling south on Alleghany Road in his 2021 Ford Ranger when he failed to noticed a blue New Holland farm tractor on the shoulder of the road.

Zynda, deputies say, struck the tractor causing Restivo to be ejected from the machinery. He sustained serious injuries as a result, and deputies said was later pronounced deceased at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

Zynda was later issued a citation for unsafe passing.
