Suspicious Activity Forced Lockout At Two Jamestown Schools

JAMESTOWN – Two schools within the City of Jamestown were under a lockout Wednesday afternoon as Jamestown Police investigated suspicious activity around the schools.

According to a post on the Jamestown Public Schools Facebook page, Jamestown High School went under lockout for a short period of time due to a suspicious individual who was observed outside of the school building.

A second lockout was activated at Washington Middle School as a precautionary measure while officers with the JPD searched for a person of interest in the area.

Officials have determined that there were no immediate threats to either JHS or Washington Middle School, and the lockouts have since been lifted.
