Get Lost 5K Run/Walk Raises Money for Northwest Pennsylvania K9 Search & Rescue Team

HARBORCREEK (ENN) – There was a good turnout at Harborceek Community Park on Sunday for the Get Lost 5K Run/Walk.

Not only is it about being active and having fun, the fundraiser is also a way to support the Northwest Pennsylvania K9 Search and Rescue Team and to meet their members and partners.

The events included the 5K walk or run, a K9 obstacle course and a kids dash.

There was a registration fee and extra fee for a race t-shirt. More than 80 people signed up.

Their support makes sure the K9 Search and Rescue Team is ready if you need them.

“The proceeds from this is all to help benefit our team,” said Kathy Lamb,Northwest Pennsylvania K9 Search and Rescue Team. “We’re a totally non-profit organization, so it helps to send us as well as our canine partners to train. It helps us buy equipment, so when we do go out on searches, we have the appropriate equipment to use.”

Awards were given to the top male and female finishers overall and in certain age groups. There were K9 awards for the top dogs, too.
